I was born to an Italian father and a French mother and my maternal grandfather was Spanish.
One of my passions has always been music. It was fitting that I began work in the entertainment industry. At the age of fifteen, I started working as a lighting technician for various bands. Less than a year later, I found myself designing and directing lighting for galas, special events, fashion shows and concerts. My first North American tour was with Theater Ballet of Canada.
In the hectic couple of years that followed, I managed, somehow, to squeeze in a college degree in broadcasting. With college behind me, I was back on the road and touring began with various bands. From 1979 to 1989 I devoted most of my work to two Canadian bands: "Eight Seconds" and "Exciter" the former was a progressive/ melodic 5 piece band while the latter was a raw energy / hard driving heavy metal 3 piece.
I toured extensively across Canada, the USA, Europe and South America. I also did a stop over for a gig in Copenhagen, Denmark, to design, direct and operate a show for "Motorhead", another powerful metal band with an enormous draw. My final tour, bringing to a close this phase of my career, was with "Eight Seconds", as we toured across the USA in support of "Wang Chung".
Having logged some serious mileage with the music industry, it was time for a new challenge. That challenge came from the film and television industry, I began to work as a gaffer and lighting director for music videos and similar projects. This exposure allowed me to break into commercials and documentaries which took me across Canada, the United States, South America, Africa, Europe, and South East Asia.
Due to a desire for more creative control of the images, I began to take jobs as a camera operator and later as a director of photography. Hungry for more, I started directing film and video productions 18 years ago.
Photography has become my great passion, and it is at the centre of my professional life.
